Migraine is more than 'just a headache'

'New drug works when others fail, researchers say' Erenumab is a monthly injection that might soon be offered to patients on the NHS if the cost can be justified. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-43781227 Migraine is very common - it affects one in seven British people - and can be hard to stop. Th...

Re: Puzzling question .... ?

PS: Yesterday the main ceiling light went off here in the living room. Kaput! It's one of those everlasting bulbs, long life - which hasn't been in there all that long .. 6 months at the most. Wasn't too bothered, turned off the switch and thought I'll put a new bulb in today - I've got plenty of ta...

Re: Puzzling question .... ?

I showed my friend the photos and he said he could probably sort it out. Is it working now? ;) Is your friend Uri Geller? ...... I was about to answer by saying that the clock is still working, in that the hands still move, and the secondhand still goes around smoothly, but that it's losing t...

Re: Puzzling question .... ?

It's now 9:00am next day and the clock is showing 7 mins past 6. Come to think of it - there is still a puzzling part to this .... bit of a mystery why my computer keyboard began playing up while I was fiddling with the clock, trying new batteries etc, and clock hands stuck and not budging(?) Wouldn...

Re: Puzzling question .... ?

Oh, why didn't I think of that? :fp  Actually, it's no longer a puzzle. Even just in the last hour that's passed, it's 'lost' about 15 minutes! On closer investigation, I noticed a few little scratches on the glass face - THEN it dawned on me ... the clock actually had a fall - just over a ...

Re: Puzzling question .... ?

I have since purchased a new battery which I have now inserted into the clock straight from the pack. The second hand is now moving as it should and so far it continues to show the right time. That was about 20 mins ago. I am going to check it every day at the same time to see whether it remains acc...

Puzzling question .... ?

Just wondering if anyone might have an explanation for something that's been puzzling me for quite some time: I have a little carriage clock that I've had for many years. It runs on a single battery (an ordinary C size) - like this: http://picresize.com/images/rsz_1duracell-1-5v-c-type-mn1400-lr14-a...

Re: Corbyn and Homeopathy

Surely he is making the same mistake that lots of people seem to do - confusing herbal medicine with homeopathy? Lumping together herbal medicine with homeopathy gives the former practice the same air of impossibility and detracts from the demonstrated benefits and future promise of using plants as ...

I never watch the show either, but had a look at your clip ... Very clever. :thumb:

(Really had me baffled as to how they did it - then you get a clue right at the very end. )

Re: The Pope doesn't believe in Hell...?

There's a long history of Christianity changing what it believes in. Sometimes this leads to offshoot versions of the religion, sometimes it just gets absorbed. The one which doesn't change is Islam - one of the drawbacks of having a holy book which cannot be questioned. Since the Christian Bible b...
