Re: Countdown

What about 'meagrest' as in 'he won by the meagrest of margins'.

Re: A second referendum - or a general election?

The more I learn about this issue, the more convinced I am becoming that every single option is completely unacceptable. I'm not sure where that leaves me... :con That is what I think. I can see no way out of this without big problems. By the way Farage was just on Jeremy Vine. He was one moment be...

Whereas in the 2016 referendum, leave won by 52%. This of course would be ...

Re: Ultima Thule etc

Re: Ultima Thule etc

Can't think of any right now but have done some howlers in the past - I'll get back when I think of some. When I come across a word I'm not sure of I tend to utilise Spanish pronunciation rules because unlike English they are (almost) completely rigid. Thule would therefore be ' thoo -leh' On names,...

Re: New Years Resolutions

However as I have been given one for Christmas by Stephen Hawking (I mean the book was by him not that he gave it to me  ) I may find myself ...

Subjects which are impossible to debate properly and civilly.

I would include Brexit (obviously) - never brought up in the pub although I see FB posts from some of my friends which indicate their leaning. Also, bikes V motor vehicles V pedestrians - easy one to fall out over. Also, dangerous dogs. Try pointing out that bull breeds cause more death and injury t...

Re: Alternative approach to nuclear power

Yes - security is a major consideration.

I would guess that geographically distributed plants would be less vulnerable to attack - or at least the redundancy would help secure supply.
