Re: Choping

Chope's principled objection to Private Member's Bills is curiously patchy. Not only are there many hundreds that he remained silent on, but he has proposed and supported PMBs, usually calling for the UK to leave the EU. He tabled 47 PMBs in 2017 including one trying to privatise the BBC. On the occ...

Re: Your own photos - new thread.

I don't remember Graffitistraatje from my visits to G(h)ent. Will have to check it out if I go again.

The Graffiti in Croydon is generally much more interesting. If I could work out how to get pics off of my phone and onto here then I would show you.

And on a "lighter" note............. Former EDL leader Tommy Robinson spends first night in prison, converts to Islam. "As one prison guard explained the incident. Re: Theresa May.

I think that John Major was ineffective, and Gordon Brown fairly ineffective. May is doing massive damage to this country by trying to hang on to power no matter what. I don't think that I'd say she is less effective than other PMs; it's just that the effect that she is having is very very negative....

Re: Flat earth - air pressure/gravity?

Air pressure is defined by the energetic air molecules rebounding upon a given area of resistance. No, the definition of air pressure is the force exerted onto a surface by the weight of the air. - Air density is defined by the weight of the air which is governed by the number of air molecules with...

Re: Corbyn and Homeopathy

I agree that it was not an encouraging position, and that he was simply confusing herbal and homeopathy as so many people do. But would also point out that the tweet if from 2011. He was corrected by umpteen people at the time and hasn't made a public statement on the subject since then. This is yet...

Re: Mystery over village in Devon rising 2cm every year

So how much higher is Willand now than it was 10 years ago? Or 100 years ago? After ten years of 2cm a year it should be 20cm higher. That is a big difference. There would have to have been some serious roadworks to fix a shift like that or roads would be completely impassable. Any property on or ne...

Mystery over village in Devon rising 2cm every year

http://metro.co.uk/2018/04/12/mystery-village-devon-rising-2cm-every-year-7461773/#mv-a My first question is not "why is it rising?" but "is it really rising?". I've seen properties where the ground has shifted by a couple of cm and there were lots of cracks. The photos don't show cracks in the grou...

In 2014 UKIP contested 42 out of 70 council seats in Croydon. In 2018 they can only manage 8 candidates:
