Isn't the news bad enough?

Post by bindeweede » Mon Jun 25, 2018 6:22 pm

You know, what with Airbus, BMW and other car manufacturers saying they might have to relocate, now, there's this dismal news.

"Five ways to beat the halloumi shortage."

I blame everybody, but as Niggly Farridge would likely say, "Let them eat Roquefort." :thumb

Even more devastating food news. "CO2 shortage halts crumpet production."
You may have trouble finding crumpets in supermarkets as Warburton's suffers the effects of a carbon dioxide shortage.

One of the UK's biggest bread makers says it has ended production at two out of four of its plants because they have run out of CO2, which they use to package the product.

Even more catastrophic - Thatchers cider - just up the road from us are cutting back production of their ciders Thatchers Gold and Thatchers Haze.

Might not mean much to you but in Somerset... :ey

The bad news keeps on coming. The CO2 problem has lead ASDA to ration on-line purchases of fizzy drinks. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/busi ... 24361.html

And..."Lettuce shortage imminent because of soaring temperatures, growers warn."

"The early summer heatwave has sparked a boost in demand for leafy salads, while the heat has stopped the UK crop growing, according to trade body the British Leafy Salad Growers Association (BLGSA)."
