Lovely, Rainy. I have happy memories of Kefalonia.

I had hoped to go on a glass bottomed boat but it was closed (out of season). I tried the same in Spain but that was closed for the day and didn't have time another day. Perhaps it's time to build my own!

Hospitality by shopkeepers/restaurant owners in Kefalonia was amazing. Free desserts and chocolates always go down well (and beer)

You're probably all sick of the eclipse but here's the best I could manage from not so sunny Stockport.

Those are fine pix!

We had bright sunshine here - no chance of a decent photo - at east not with my level of equipment/expertise.

Yes, great pics, AC. :thumb: I was down the town at about 9.40 and it was just dull and grey - you wouldn't have known there was a partial eclipse.

ImageTelford

The Gorge was awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO for the area's unique contribution to the birth of the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century which had a worldwide impact.

300 years ago this was the world's technological hotspot where Abraham Darby I first perfected the use of coke to mass-produce iron. Entrepreneurs and Iron masters such as William Reynolds and John Wilkinson made good use of this wonder product. Wilkinson was even buried in an iron coffin!

The surviving built and natural environment with its museums, monuments and artefacts, including the world famous Iron Bridge of 1779, serve to remind us of this area’s unique contribution to the history and development of industrialised society. http://www.visitironbridge.co.uk/ironbridge-gorge

Must visit Ironbridge one day.

Where I walk the dogs nearly every day, there are a couple of living wicker sculptures. There are lots of these around here, the best known being a sort of wicker man near the M5. It's a Somerset levels thing. I've often wondered what they are.

Anyway, here they are - the photos aren't good - the light was poor and where they are there are no good angles without roads and pylons bombing the pix...

While I was there a lady was trimming the legs of the tall one so I asked her about them. Turns out she was the original sculptress.

The tall one is just a tall thing with legs - a sort of living cathedral - it's quite a common style with these things.

The second is apparently a woman lying down on her side. Her head is to the right, then her neck, shoulder, waist and hip and finally her legs. It's called 'Woman on the Rocks'.

From the road side she's got boobs
