bindeweede posted this photo from FB, then from my reply thought i was upset, then removed it, which was very kind.

You can knock out quite a reasonable photo with a phone these days.

Nice - I like those kind of coastlines in which the border between land and sea keeps changing with the tides. I find holiday beaches and cliffs very boring by comparison.

Yes, nice pic, chaggle. My first digital camera - a Fuji MX 700 - had 1.5 megapixels. Today's smartphones can have 12, 16, or 20*, though from what I have read, the size of the pixels can be more important that the number. ( I am still in a quandary about getting myself a smartphone, though picture quality would not be so important to me, as I have 3 fairly modern digital cameras already.)

*There's a Nokia phone with 41 megapixels.

I'll get you a shot of the same scene at low tide - you won't see a lot of water.

Same place - different time. Sea is about a mile away.

Thank you!

Close to Weston-super-Mare, I see. I have a soft spot for the traditional, slightly tacky, English seaside resort, as long as it isn't too decrepit!

Looks a beautiful place, Binders.
Chaggle, I love our coastal sea that appears so rapidly - how many cars caught out this year so far?!

Yes - Binders gets to see some beautiful places doesn't he?

Happens a lot every year - cars and people being caught out.

I can't blame them entirely - no excuse for residents but I feel sorry for them if they are visitors.

They can't know that the dry land they parked on is going to be 5 metres under water in 6 hours time or the water's edge they are walking along will turn into liquid mud and suck them in within seconds.

There is a rescue hovercraft based at Burnham on Sea and it is well used.
