I used to use Photoshop to compress images for web use but don't have it any more so I had a look around and found this lovely little utility. You can either use it online or download the small program. It's fast, simple to use and can handle batch processing. Saves upload/download time as well as disk space. :) http://www.imageoptimizer.net/Pages/Home.aspx

Thanks for that. For the record, this forum's limit for picture size is 600 x 400, which has caught me out before!

For batch processing (e.g. creating thumbnails for each image in a folder) I've used http://www.irfanview.com/
in the past.
