The 50th anniversary of this classic series: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-37232329 . I watched the whole series again a few years ago, and enjoyed it just as much (maybe more, having visited Portmeirion since). It is totally bonkers, of course, but rather magnificently so.

Thanks for the link, Tony. I remember watching the series on the old Rediffusion box-TV my parents rented at the time - a huge 12 inch screen and black and white of course. The new colour sets were incredibly expensive.
