Today's Oxbridge boat race was a good excuse for one columnist to tell the story of the 1977 race, when the commentator Harry Carpenter said: "Ah, isn't that nice? The wife of the Cambridge president is kissing the cox of the Oxford crew." :shock:

Some strange rituals these Oxbridge types practice... :???:

Just think - if Prince William (for instance) ever joined one of the Christmas Day dips in the sea, he would give the tabloids a great headline: "Silly Billy, Chilly Willy!"
