but that explanation makes me realise that I hadn't got the right answer in the first place! I was totally off on the wrong track & that's why the 'clue' made no sense to me! :ro I have got it now though. :mrgreen:

Not too hard.

Below are seven countries, whose letters have been scrambled.

Once you have unscrambled the letters, the first letters of each of the countries can then be scrambled to make another country.

Can you find this country?

AADNORR
AEHIIOPT
CEEEGR
AAAACDGMRS
ANORWY
AAIMNOR
EEMNY
