Yes, let's all celebrate the day of a Christian Saint who might never have existed. If he did actually exist then we don't know when or where he was born, or died. And if he really was a real person, he probably never even knew of the British Isles and died hundreds of years before the English area was invaded by northmen and known as "Angle-land". He is a patron Saint of Portugal, Georgia, Malta and Gozo. Even Muslims recognise him as important and some conflate him with Khidr from the Koran.

Makes you proud to be English.
