2020 was definitely a year to forget. Whether 2021 will be any better will depend on the speed and effectiveness of Covid vaccinations, and the practical consequences of leaving the EU.

Given a choice, I think I'd rather skip 2021 too, and go straight to 2022.

It is very odd watching the New Year's Day concert from Vienna - with no audience. :v

I have that one recorded but not seen it yet.

Oh well, that presumably gave the commentator even more time to examine what proportion of the orchestra was female...

The BBC had a survey of the papers with contributions from a reporter who spent a lot of time in Germany. He recently asked someone who was high up in dealing with the German response to Covid, how long it would be before life could get back to normal - meeting people in a pub etc. The answer: "forget 2021"
