Just back from a short trip to Ghent. Since my first visit in 2008, "Graffiti Alley" has become quite famous. Or is it infamous?
Just one pic here, and I have to say it doesn't appeal to me at all.

Looks a bit of a mess. Is there any good stuff?

Been meaning to get to Ghent some time. I can get to Hull without too much trouble and P&O does daily overnight ferry services to Zebrugge and Europort. They do day trips from the ports to some cities, laying on a coach which picks you up at the port in the morning and delivers you back again in the late afternoon. Ghent is one of them.

I don't remember Graffitistraatje from my visits to G(h)ent. Will have to check it out if I go again.
The Graffiti in Croydon is generally much more interesting. If I could work out how to get pics off of my phone and onto here then I would show you.

I don't generally know a lot about such things, however I attach any phone pics I want to an e mail to myself. Then when I log onto my laptop I can download them from there. Is that useful? I just want to see what the graffiti is like in Croydon

Good stuff. Some obviously by the same artists as some of the Croydon art. I suspect that lots of places now have this massive explosion of street art and think that it is unique to that area.
This link has a couple of really good Croydon examples. Lois Lane (now gone) and Churchill:

I would never claim to be a connoisseur of graffiti, but those examples from Croydon, Bristol and Estepona contain some impressive examples. I did a similar search on Ghent, but the results do not do much for me, I have to say. But then it's the sort of thing that changes quickly, I expect.

I probably saw it being painted - it was done during 'upfest' - the graffiti festival in Southville and Bedminster in Bristol. Literally hundreds of artists doing their thing - mostly on boards but some on walls and buildings. I was there on the first day so most of the works were only just started - I must go back and see the finished articles.
